Ouida Gunther

November 9, 1918 — August 25, 2011

Ouida "Granny" Hope Gunther went to meet the Lord August 25, 2011. She was 92. She was born in Willard, Missouri on Nov 9, 1918 and lived in Port Orchard for more than 40 years.  Ouida was a retired homemaker but held many jobs in the community including: Hilltop grocery store, Flying J gas, Space Station Storage and managed many apartment buildings. Ouida was a loved member of Christian Life Center and active in the community. Ouida was known by all as generous and charitable. She was known by most as Granny. She loved to take road trips and was an adventurous explorer.  She was preceded in death by son Johnnie Shoemaker of Port Angeles and survived by daughter, Linda Voight of Port Orchard, son Michael Shoemaker of Olympia and her many treasured "grands", 13 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.  The celebration of her life will be held at Rill's Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at 1:30 pm followed by interment at Sunset Lane Memorial Park.
