Owen E. "Gene" Davies, Jr. died of cancer at his Port Orchard, Washington home on November 17, 2002. He was 64.He was born August 9, 1938 in Red Lodge, Montana to Owen and Ann (Tastovorsnik)Davies.Owen married Linda (Bernritter) Davies June 16, 1972 in Bremerton, Wasington.He graduated from Red Lodge High school in Red Lodge, Montana in 1957.He also worked in the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard Apprentice Program in Bremerton, Washington.Owen served in the Navy from 1957 - 1961.He worked as a Ship Fitter at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton, Washington for 27 years - retiring in 1993.After his time in the Navy, Gene worked for Hamilton's Produce Company delivering to restaurants in Yellowstone National Park. He then worked in Oregon as a general laborer before working at Puget Sound Naval shipyard.He enjoyed fishing, bowling, hunting, playing bingo, and helping others.Gene is survived by his wife Linda (Bernritter) Davies of Port Orchard, Washington; sons Tony Davies and Michael Davies (both of Port Orchard, Washington); daughters Darcia Oefinger of Port Orchard, Washington and Anne Stallard of Forks, Washington; brother Ed Davies of Port Orchard, Washington; and sister Dorothy Morrison of Wolf Point, Montana; 6 grandchildren; 1 nephew; and 2 nieces.An informal gathering will be held at Ed Davies' home at 10541 Fairview Blvd. S.W., Port Orchard, Washington on Sunday, November 24, 2002 from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.Memorial donations may be made to:National Kidney Foundation of WashingtonP.O.
