Pamala "Jan" Shaw, 55, of Brinnon, went home on July 20, 2002 of cancer. She was born in Alhambra, California to Lester and Alma (Via) Jankow. She was married to Fred Shaw in 1964 where they resided in Ketchum, Idaho. She graduated from Hailey High School, Hailey, Idaho in 1965. Jan rode in the "Wagon Days" Parade in Ketchum, along side her Dad, Lester; who was the Marshall of Ketchum until 1969. Her mother owned a beauty shop in Ketchum where Jan enjoyed helping. Jan enjoyed ice-skating at the Sun Valley Lodge. She was an outdoor enthusiast, enjoying horseback riding (she rode better bareback then most could with a saddle), snow skiing, water skiing, fishing, hunting, camping, sky diving, cooking and canning, gardening, garage sale entrepreneur, farming (milking cows), caring for her animals (cats, dogs, deer, birds, pot-belly pig, chickens, ducks and her horse), but most of all she enjoyed caring for others. She loved old western movies and books in her spare time. She worked for Warm Springs Inn (Ketchum, Idaho) and the Sun Valley Lodge as a waitress until they moved to Brinnon, Washington in 1974. Jan and Fred were commercial shrimpers until she started her career again as a waitress where she blessed many people with her beautiful brown eyes, always working very hard at pleasing people as their waitress and cook for over 20 years. She had a real love for people and it showed in her life and famiy. She touched many lives even in her battle with cancer. She never gave up and encouraged all those around her.
