Pamela ''Penny'' S. Burtner, born to Edward & Lenore (Hall) Burtner on March 6, 1945 in Tacoma, Washington, found her wings on September 27, 2000, after a long illness with cancer. Penny's job with Tri-North Department stores took her traveling throughout the Pacific Northwest. She was a highly energetic woman whose love were family, friends and all animals. She will always be remembered for her zest for life, her undying spirit and her wonderful sense of humor.Surviving are daughters LesLee Wootan Macaraeg and Deanna Wootan Zavodny; grandchildren Rico & Robbie Macaraeg, Samantha Zavodny, Jordan Baleto & David Custance; former husband & caring friend Bill Nearhoff; brother Kenny (Pauline) Burtner of Clearwater, Florida; sisters Pat Murry, Carolyn Anderson, and Sharon Lynch all of Tacoma. A Celebration of Penny's life will be held at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard on Saturday, September 30, 2000 at 11:00am. It will be followed by a gathering at Capitol Palace Restaurant in Port Orchard.
