Patrick Lee Jackson

June 8, 1946 — April 5, 2024

We are saddened to announce the passing of Patrick L Jackson, who died peacefully in his sleep at Marine Court Memory Care Center on Friday, April 5, 2024 at 8:36pm PDT in Bremerton, WA. He died from complications of multiple strokes. He was 77 years old.

Patrick was born in Tacoma, WA to Elmer and Laura Kalles. He spent most of his adult life between Washington and California. His adoptive father, Marven Jackson, served in the Air Force, so Patrick had the opportunity to live or visit almost all 50 states, filling him with a drive to explore new places. He met his wife of almost 49 years, Jann Pickett, while living in California. He was a self-made man, having been self-employed for most of his adult life. He was a strong believer in the "Work Hard/Play Hard" philosophy and taught his children to have a strong work ethic. Short of his third stroke in 2023, nothing could make him stop working.

Patrick lived for his family and for helping others. He was also an avid scoutmaster in the Boy Scouts of America, where he volunteered for over 16 years, and taught youth Sunday School for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved traveling and was able to take his children to every state west of the Rockies. He spent much of his leisure time at Lake Crescent and Duck Lake, where he taught family and friends how to water ski and enjoy the outdoors. When not engaged with work or enjoying his leisure time, he could be seen constantly making improvements around his home.

Patrick was preceded in death by his biological parents, Elmer and Laura Kalles; his adoptive father, Marven Jackson; two older brothers Jim and David; an older sister Laura Kay; his younger brother, Marven, and his nephew Michael. He is survived by his wife, Jann, sister Dorothy, son Joel, daughters Jenni and Jaime, 14 grandchildren and one great grandson.

Favorite quotes: “Rule #1 - You have to be smarter than what you are working with," “It is good to want things - it makes you ambitious," “Righty tighty, Lefty loosey” and always referred to his wife as his “Better Half.”

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Boy Scouts of America in Patrick’s name.

A funeral and celebration of life will be held 10am - 12pm, May 11, 2024, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on 1550 Hoover Ave SE, Port Orchard, WA 98366
