Paul Arnold Carlson, 79 of Port Orchard, died in Bremerton, Washington on July 1, 2000. He was born December 30, 1920 in Nome, North Dakota to Henry & Annie (Strand) Carlson. Paul married Eleanor Jacobson on May 7, 1949 in St. Paul, Minnesota. She preceded him in death in 1994.Mr. Carlson worked for 30 years at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton, Washington as an Electroplater retiring in 1982. He also worked as Senior Advisor in Olympia for the Area Agency on Aging. Paul was an avid golfer and member of Sons of Norway. He was an elder, most recently at Sylvan Way Baptist Church in Bremerton and previously at Harper Evangelical Free Church in Port Orchard.Surviving are sons Frank Carlson of Port Orchard and David Carlson of Madison, Wisconsin; daughter Helen Carlson of Palm Desert, California; brother Levi Carlson of Nome, North Dakota; sister Cora Romaine of Mesa, Arizona; and 3 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brother Seth Carlson in 1993.Visitation is Monday, July 3, 2000 from 2:00 to 6:00pm at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard. Funeral Service will be Wednesday, July 5, 2000 at 1:00PM at Rill Chapel with interment following at Sunset Lane Cemetery in Port Orchard.
