Paul Kennedy

Paul Richard Kennedy, 90, of Port Orchard, went to be with his Lord and Savior on May 16, 2010. He was born in Dayton, Ohio on Nov. 27th, 1919 to Clarence and Ruth Kennedy.  After graduating from Mad River Township High School, he married Doris Compton on August 27, 1938.  Their honeymoon was spent driving across the United States to California to attend Life Bible College.  There he worked at Farmers Market while completing school.  After graduating, he began his life long calling as a pastor in a small church located in Muscatine, Iowa.  He founded churches in Southern California, Arizona and he served in various churches both large and small. His lifelong passion was evangelism, and he was driven to see people surrender their lives to Christ.  Paul is survived by his wife Pat; sons David and Dwight; stepchildren Tim and Rena Drabant, Janet Kelley, Kathleen Bigelow, John and Ruth Rivera, scores of grandchildren, great grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren. A “Celebration of Life” service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, May 21st at Christ the Rock Community Church in Port Orchard.
