Paul M. Moreira, 60, of Bremerton, Washington died on May 21 2008. He was born July 26, 1947, in Azores, Portugal. Paul came from Portugal at the age of 14, only knowing Portuguese. He then learned English and continued to graduate from Benicia High School in 1965. Paul married his wife, Mary J. Moreira, on April 19 1969. Then he went on to graduate from Mare Island Marine Machinist apprenticeship and then moved Port Orchard in 1970. Paul and Mary started their new lives together in Port Orchard with their son, Tony, and their daughter, Liza. Paul started work as a Marine Machinist at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and then went into the scheduling department where he eventually became the Chief Scheduler. He retired after 37 years in January 2003. Paul enjoyed travelling, he especially liked Mexico, Portugal and visiting friends and family. He liked playing on his tractor, garage saleing and most of all spending time with his children and grandchildren. Paul is survived by his wife, Mary Moreira (Cushman); his son, Tony Moreira; grandkids, Gaige, Hunter and Brooke Moreira. His daughter Liza Fisher, son-in-law, Royce Fisher and Grandson Royce Fisher IV. His sister, Meda and brother-in-Llaw Sidonia Resendes. Niece, Maria and Anna Resendes and nephew, Roy Resendes. He was preceded in death by his mother, Clotilde Liggett; his father, Joseph Moreira; and his daughter-in-law, Janet Moreira. Paul's intelligence, sound advice and good sense of humor and the love he shared with his family and friends will never be forgotten. Visitation with family from 3 to 5 p.m. on Thursday May 29th at Rill's Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard.
