Paul Ondell

Paul Leon Ondell, 57, died at home in Port Orchard on April 15, 2008. He was born March 14, 1951 in Alexandria, Louisiana to Leon & Iris (Dudleston) Ondell. He graduated from Long Beach High School in Long Beach, Mississippi in 1970 and married Shawn Adams July 2, 1983 in Port Orchard. Paul worked for more than 30 years as a Nuclear Pipefitter at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, retiring in 2006. He was a member of the Plumber and Pipefitters Union in Bremerton. He served in the U.S. Army from 1968-1971 as an E-5 earning the Distinguished Flying Cross & several other military honors. Paul enjoyed his family, brewing his own beer, was an animal lover, and an avid Texas Hold 'Em player. Surviving are wife Shawn; son Jason Ondell of Sumner, Washington; daughters Tara Ondell of Bellevue, Washington & Heather (Dan) Keller of Port Orchard; mother Iris Ondell of Biloxi, Mississippi; sister Lois (Joe) Weems of Long Beach, Mississippi; grandchildren Miranda, Kayley & Kendan. He was preceded in death by his father. Memorial service 1:30pm on Saturday, April 26th at Rill's Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard. Memorial donations to any animal rescue or Fred Hutchison Mesothilioma Research Center in Seattle.
