Paula Mohney

Paula Kono-Mohney, 80, affectionately known as Faye Ray, died at her home in Port Orchard of natural causes on February 7, 2009. She was born to Joseph and Charlotte Ray in McCammon, ID on November 27, 1928. She married Ramon R. ‘Ray’ Kono on July 12, 1951 in Pocatello, ID and he preceded her in death in 1985.  She worked for PSNS, WA as a timekeeper for 10 years, retiring in 1991. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Port Orchard and a volunteer at Retsil Veteran’s Center. She loved dogs, horses and the great outdoors, reading her Bible and drawing. She was preceded in death by her son Alan Kono.  She is survived by sons Lew Kono (Gloria) of Poulsbo and Steve Kono (Laurie) of Everett; daughter Margo Robinson (Barney) of Everett and daughter-in-law Jennifer Kono; dog Koda; 14 grandchildren Melissa, Krissa, Andrew, Gage, Shon, Shella, Stephanie, Jared, Trevor, Micaela, Lauren, Chelsea, Christopher and Anthony; 6 great-grandchildren Makena, William, Jocelyn, Courtney, Daelyn and Chase; caregivers Dora Cantu and Bernadette Hoffman.  Memorial Service will be at First Baptists Church of Port Orchard, Friday, February 13th at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Humane Society of Kitsap County, 9167 Dickey Rd NW, Silverdale, WA 98383 or First Baptist Church, 2308 Sidney, Port Orchard, WA 98366 Port Orchard.  “Al…She’s all yours, we love and miss you both!!”
