Margaret-Ann "Peggy" Rose Lankford, 53, died at her home in Port Orchard, Washington on May 18, 2005. She was born on May 10, 1952 in Brooklyn, New York to Joseph and Florence (Monahan) Guercio. She graduated from Sewanhaka High School in New York in 1970. She received a Master Certificate for Residential Services Specialist through North Orange County Community College District in California. Peggy married James Lankford in Laguna Beach, California on April 14, 1984. Peggy worked as Director for the Little Dove Children's Learning Center, Spirit of Life Lutheran Church in Port Orchard for 6 years. She worked with the developmentally disabled in Apple Valley and Mission Viejo, California. She was a bus driver with the Mission Viejo School District. Peggy also worked in home day care for 7 years in Santa Ana, California and for 3 years as Director of Faith Christian Preschool in Santa Ana. Peggy was an active member of Spirit of Life Lutheran Church in Port Orchard and became a lay minister after two years of study. She enjoyed music, playing guitar and congo drums; her dog Vinnie and 2 cats, K.C. & Annie. Survivors include her husband James; daughter Leticia who is attending Evergreen State College; brothers Frank & wife Judy Guercio of Oklahoma and Philip & wife Candy of Florida. She was preceded in death by brother George. Memorial service is Monday, June 6, 2005 at 4:00pm at Rill's Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard. A Celebration of Life will follow at Spirit of Life Lutheran Church in Port Orchard.
