Percy Sherar

November 13, 1910 — October 14, 1998

Percy R. Sherar, 87, died October 14,  1998 in Seattle.  Born Novmeber 13, 1910 in Mukilteo and graduated from Everett HS in 1928, he  served in the US Army from 1942 to 1945 at new Guinea, Southern Philippines, and Japan Occupation.  Received American Theatre & Asiatic Pacific Service Medals; Philippine Liberation Medal with 1 bronze star; Bronze Service Arrow Head; Good Conduct and Victory Medals.  He married Margaret Lauth on November, 13, 1951 in Bremerton.  Mr. Sherar retired in 1969 after 15 years with the Bremerton School District.  He is a life member of VFW Post #239 in Bremerton.  Survived by wife, Margaret; daughters Patty Haver of Port Orchard, Barbara Bower of New Orleans, Sharon Jacobsen of Silverdale; sisters May McCarthy of Bremerton & Willadee Olem of Everett; 10 Grandchildren; 7 Great-Grandchildren.  Service Oct 20, 1998 at 1:00 PM Rill Chapel, Port Orchard.  Viewing Oct 19th 9am-5pm & Oct 20th 9 am to Service.
