Philip Ramones Acoba of Puyallup, Washington died of cancer in Port Orchard, Washington on July 18, 2004. He was 83. He was born January 19, 1921 in Cagayan, Philippine Islands to Santiago Acoba Subeldia and Evarista (Ramires) Subeldia. He married Rosaline (Suyat) Acoba on January 17, 1942 in Honolulu, Hawaii. Philip graduated from Farrington High School in Honolulu, Hawaii in 1939. He served in the U.S. Army from 1945 - 1947. Philip was employed with Matson for 35 years - retiring in 1983. He was active in the Senior Citizen's Club of Puyallup; enjoyed cooking, barbequing and Luaus for family and friends; loved fishing and crabbing. Philip was Catholic. He is survived by sons - Leland Acoba (& wife, Marcia) of Port Orchard, Washington, Eugene Acoba of Puyallup, Washington; brothers - Harry Subeldia in Bremerton, Washington, Andres Subeldia in Honolulu, Hawaii, Candido Subeldia in Honolulu, Hawaii; sisters - Mary Jaramillo in Honolulu, Hawaii, Kanota Rivera in Kapolei, Hawaii, and Dolores Bolosan in Pearl City Hawaii; 7 grandchildren (Kimberly Tottori, Naomi Gates, Jeffrey Acoba, Christopher Acoba, David Acoba, Keoni Acoba, Maili Acoba); 5 great-grandchildren (Christopher Gates, Whitney Gates, Laura Gates, Anthony Acoba and Isabelle Acoba).
