Philip T. Parsons, 81 of Port Orchard, died in Bremerton on November 5, 2008. He was born May 5, 1927 in Oakland, California to Augustus & Emma (Sawyer) Parsons. He graduated from Burlingame High School in Burlingame, California in 1944 and Stanford University in Palo Alto, California in 1948. He married Margaret "Peggy" Hastings on December 11, 1965 in San Mateo, California. Philip worked for 33 years as a Health Inspector for San Mateo County, retiring in 1998. He enjoyed cats, sailing, and classical music. He was a member of St. Bede's & St. Paul's Church, Coyote Point Yacht Club, Emerald Hills Country Club, Toastmasters in San Mateo, CA and Silverdale, WA, and was a volunteer for Big Brothers Youth Organization. Surviving are wife Peggy; daughter Carol Parsons of Port Orchard; sister Adele de Ryk of Loveland, CO; and friend Dr. Frederick P. Murray of Largo, FL. He was preceded in death by sisters Elizabeth Mead & Kay Tracy. Memorial service at 1:30pm on November 22, 2008 at St. Bede's Episcopal Church in Port Orchard. Memorials to Kitsap County Humane Society in lieu of flowers.
