Phillip Joseph Ruscigno was born in San Jose, California to Phillip John Ruscigno and Phoebe Christine Ruscigno in 1976. He spent his early childhood years in San Jose, California and then lived in several different states including Rhode Island and Oregon and, most recently, Washington State.
His passion was helping others and this evolved into a career as a Professional Personal Trainer. He earned two National Certifications: National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) and International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA). Technical knowledge aside, what made him such a great personal trainer was his ability to make a meaningful connection with people. Upon meeting someone he could instantly assess their strengths and weaknesses from a brief observation and could instantly formulate a customized plan for their journey from weakness to strength. He just knew what they needed and he knew how to motivate and inspire them to get there.
In his personal life, Phil was everyone’s champion. He would give you his last sandwich as well as his last $5 if you needed it. His gift was that of changing and transforming the lives of others both physically and emotionally.
His passing on June 12, 2022 was sudden and unexpected and left a hole in the many hearts that he touched throughout his life.
He is survived by his sister Stephanie Johnson (Mike), brother John Ruscigno (Kaley), and his Aunt Christina Balazs (Ken), as well as his two adorable Chihuahuas Gabriella and Stella.
A Memorial Service in his honor will be held at Rill Life Tribute Center, Port Orchard, Washington on Monday, August 22, 2022 at 1pm with a reception immediately following at the same venue.
