Phyllis G. Hopkins, 69, died at her home in Port Orchard on April 3, 2010. She was born June 14, 1940 in Denver, CO to Alfonso & Ricada (Hernandez) Baca. She married Gerald Hopkins November 4, 1989 in Port Orchard. He preceded her in death in 2004. Phyllis worked for many years as a Nurses Aid at WA Veterans Home in Retsil. After leaving regular employment, she continued on as a volunteer. She was also a member of VFW Auxiliary # 2669. Surviving are mother and family matriarch Ricada Kermath of Escondido, CA; daughters Valerie & Chuck McWhorter of Bremerton, Cathy & Ray Anderson and Dana & Anthony Carroll, both of Port Orchard, and Lorrie & Jim Wolfson of Roseburg, OR; brother Alfonso Servey & sister Elenor Martinez, both of CA; grandchildren Richard Thompson, Keenan & Sean McWhorter, Michaeal & Christine Dougherty, Nicole Carroll, Ashley & Casey Wolfson; great-grandchildren Jacob & Jeremiah Dougherty. Celebration of Life Service at 10:30am April 7, 2010 at Rill's Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard, with visitation 1 hour prior to service. Burial following at Sunset Lane Memorial Park and reception at VFW Post 2669 in Port Orchard. Online memorial at
