Preston Bruhn

April 29, 1930 — September 9, 2008

Preston Raymond Bruhn, 78, died at his home in Port Orchard on September 9, 2008.  He was born April 29, 1930 in Trommold, MN to Otto & Clara (Hintz) Bruhn.  He married Colleen Schweitzer on October 21, 1948 in Seattle. Preston worked for 38 years as a Heavy Equipment Operator and was owner/operator of Bruhn's Excavating for 22 years.  He was a member of Operators Engineers 302 and South Kitsap Soggy Sams (RV club).  He enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling and family dinners.  He liked working on cars, welding, building things and the rodeo. He had a relentless ethic and was always either on the job or thinking about how to make it better. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Colleen; sons Greg (Twyla) Bruhn of Strathmore, Alberta, Canada, Gary (Linda) Bruhn of Port Orchard & Gerald (Holly) of Yelm; brother Cleo (Mary) Bruhn of Port Orchard; grandchildren Deanne Wierman; Shad and Gary Lee Bruhn, Meranda Jackson, Lacey, Lindsey and Trever Bruhn and Ivy Heembrock; 14 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by sister Eunice Jacobsen. Celebration of Life 1:00 pm Saturday, September 13, 2008 at Rill's Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard.
