Ralph Kyle Smith, 59, died at Harrison Memorial Hospital in Bremerton, Washington on November 4, 2000. He was born on August 8, 1941 in Long Beach, California to Melvin & Ruth (Kyle) Smith. Ralph graduated from West High School in Bremerton in 1959 and attended Olympic College also in Bremerton.Mr. Smith was employed for 39 years at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton. He was an Equipment Specialist at the time of his death. Ralph served as a Specalist 4th Class in the U.S. Army in Vietnam from April 1965 to January 1967. He was a member of the Kitsap County Poggy Club and enjoyed hunting.Surviving are his sister-in-law Patricia Smith of Belfair, Washington; nephews Christopher Butler of Bonney Lake, Washington and Grant Butler of Belfair; nieces Cheri L. Henry of San Diego, California and Cari K. Abrams of Louisville, Kentucky. He was preceded in death by brother Robert Smith in 1999.Private family service will be held. Inurnment will be at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Washington. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Kitsap Unit, P. O. Box 2382, Bremerton, WA 98310.
