Raymond Fewel

Raymond P. Fewel, 96, formerly of Southworth, died at Albright House in Bremerton on February 18, 1999.  He was born June 6, 1902 in Calhoun, Missouri to Richard & Ida (Shepard) Fewel.  His wife of 62 years, Vesta, preceded him in death in 1987.  Raymond worked as a Painter at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard from 1943 until his retirement in 1964.  Prior to that he worked in farming in Missouri and Texas.  Mr. Fewel loved to fish, hunt, and garden.  He was a member of NARFE and Harper Evangelical Church.Surviving are sons R.S. Fewel of Port Orchard and Richard Fewel of Belfair; grandchildren Gloria Breed of Poulsbo; Susan Lampley of Silverdale, and Roger Fewel of Aberdeen; 4 great-grandchildren.  Mr. Fewel was preceded in death by son Ralph in 1973, grandson Roy Fewel in 1989, and granddaughter Vesta Fewel in 1984.Funeral service 10:00AM Wednesday, February 24, 1999 at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard.  Interment will be at Sunset Lane Cemetery in Port Orchard.
