Mr. Raymond Gene Hanna, Age:73, died at Harrison Hospital on February 11, 2002.Raymond was born in Tillamook, Oregon on April 6, 1928 to Albert and Edna Mary(Stevens)Hanna. He attended and graduated from Robert A. Long High School in Longview, Washington in 1948.Raymond served in the United States Navy from July 7, 1945 until October 8, 1947. He attained the rank of Fireman Second Class. He received two meritorious awards prior to his honorable discharge from the military.On April 28, 1951, Raymond married Avis Virginia Young. She preceded him in death on February 27, 1997.Raymond spent twenty five years working for Federal Civil Service, as a Housing Director at Naval Submarine Base Bangor, Washington. He retired in 1983.Raymond loved hunting, fishing, golfing, and was a member of 404 Bethel Grange in Port Orchard, Washington. He was a member of the Christian faith.Raymond is survived by three sons, Raymond Gene Hanna, Jr. of Seabeck, Washington; Curtis Martin Hanna of Kingston, Washington; Christopher Stuart Hanna of Poulsbo, Washington; a daughter, Susan Jane Hanna of Bremerton, Washington; a brother, Delmar Hanna of Tanaskit, Washington; thirteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Colleen Whittenberg.A graveside service is scheduled for Thursday, February 14, 2002, at 10:00 a.m., at Sunset Lane Cemetery in Port Orchard. Pastor Ken Hegtvedt will be officiating.The family has asked that any memorial donations be sent to the American Cancer Society, Kitsap Unit, Post Office Box 2383, Bremerton, Washington, 98310.All arrangements are under direction of Rill Chapel, Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home in Port Orchard.
