Raymond Jack Nix, 57, of Olalla, Washington, died June 4, 2001, at his home. He was born August 22, 1943, in Coronado, California, to Jack and Jacquelin (McDonald) Nix. On May 24, 1969, he married Barbara Isabel (Valdez) Nix in LaPuente, California.Raymond graduated from Poway High School in Poway, California, and then from National University and Denver University both in San Diego, California.He served in the United States Navy from July of 1961 until July of 1980 and then in the reserves until 1989 earning the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.After serving his country, Raymond worked at Boeing for over 11 years and as a professor at St. Martins College for over 2 years. He loved watching his children play sports and teaching college and was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Gig Harbor, Washington.Raymond is survived by his wife Barbara, of Olalla, Washington; mother, Jackie Blessing, of Kingman, Arizona; son, Aaron C. Nix, of Sultan, Washington; daughters, Joan E. Nix, of Olalla, Washington and Francesca D. Nix, of Omaha, Nebraska; brothers, Steven R. Nix and Alan E. Nix, both of Kingman, Arizona; and 2 grandchildren.Services will be 11:30 AM, Monday, June 11, 2001, at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Washington.
