Raymond Kern

Raymond L. Kern of Washington Veterans Home in Retsil died March 13, 2004. He was 79. He was born April 6, 1924 in Eureka, California to George and Myrla (Lancaster) Kern. Raymond married Doris (McDonald) Kern February 8, 1945 in Nevada. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1942-1946 as 3rd Class Gunner's Mate. He was awarded WWII Victory Medal and Asiatic Pacific Award. Raymond loved to make and give away beaded alligator key chains; enjoyed participating in activities with other residents at the Veterans Home. He is survived by son - Fred Kern (& wife, Norma) of Eagle Point, Oregon; daughter - Willa Kaupp of Olalla, Washington; brother - Don Kern of Ione, California; sisters - Gracie Sprague of Arcatta, California, Mary Lou Weber of Arcatta, California
