Richard D. Binion

June 30, 1944 — June 22, 2023

Richard passed away the peacefully the morning of June 22nd, 2023.

Richard was born in Chehalis, Washington June 30, 1944. He was the son of Maxine and Robert Binion and the second of 9 children in a close-knit family.

He graduated from high school in Onalaska, Washington an joined the Navy. He served in Vietnam and was in the Navy for 7 years. During this time, he married his wife, Myrna. They were married for 57 years.

After leaving the Navy, Richard started working as a machinist at PSNS in Bremerton, Wa. Richard and Myrna built a house near Gig Harbor, Wa. where they lived for many years and raised their two children, Aleta and Rick.

When he retired from PSNS, Richard worked at ACE Hardware in Gig Harbor, fixing small machines and helping anyone who asked.

Richard loved fishing, shrimping, hunting and riding his motorcycle. He enjoyed grilling on the barbecue and working in his wood shop, where he made beautiful benches, chairs, and swings. He loved spending time with his friends and family and played a mean game of Pinochle!

Survived by his wife Myrna, children Aleta and Richard, and grandchildren, Cameron, Avery, and Max.
