Richard Brown

September 10, 1941 — August 24, 2010

Richard "Dick" Knight Brown, 68, died at his home in Port Orchard on August 24, 2010.  He was born September 10, 1941 in Providence RI to Archibald & Anna (Wells) Brown.  He graduated from Cranston HS in RI in 1959 and married Cynthia Bushnell on September 27, 1964, also in Cranston. Richard retired as a Nuclear Electrician from PSNS in Bremerton after 27 years.  He  served as a Sgt. in the Army National Guard as an E-5 from 1962 to 1968.  Richard enjoyed fire arms, the water and the beach.  He was involved with horses and worked as a 4-H Leader for the "Diamond Riders".  He loved his family and his dog Barron.  He was a member of Kitsap Rifle & Revolver Club, was a Life Guard in RI and loved fishing. Surviving are wife Cynthia; son Scott (Carrie Ann) Brown; daughters Lynn (William) Crawford and Nancy (Randy) Mathes; grandchildren Alicia, Sydnee, Kaitlyn & Jeremy Brown, Katherine, Nicholas & Wolfgang Crawford, and Luke Ryan Mathes; great-grandson Killean A. Todd. Richard was loved by many and was a wonderful father and husband to Cynthia for 46 years.  You could not find a more faithful and loyal man.  He will be truly missed. Celebration of Life at 1:00 pm on Monday, August 30, 2010 at Rill's Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard, followed by burial at Fraola Cemetery, also in Port Orchard.
