Richard Cayo

August 21, 1940 — July 7, 2009

Richard Lee Cayo, 68 of Port Orchard, died in Bremerton on July 7, 2009. He was born August 21, 1940 in Tacoma, WA to George & Mary (Clawson) Cayo. He attended Central Kitsap High School. He married Ann Lund and she preceded him in death.   Richard retired as a Rigger at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton. He also owned his own Janitorial Service business. He served in the US. Army from 1959 to 1966, earning the Good Conduct and Sharp Shooter medals.   Richard enjoyed country music, bowling, and playing pool. He was a life member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, a founding member of KDDA, and a member of Junior Chamber of Commerce.   Surviving are daughters Linda Sanchez of Sparks, NV and Judy Schlegel of Darrington, NV; brothers Joseph (Irene) Cayo of Olympia, WA and Robert (LaRene) of Burley, WA; sisters Phyllis Geres of Kansas City, MO and Georgiann (Larry) Patison of West Richland, WA, 3 Grandchildren & 1 Great Grandchild. He was preceded in death by brothers William, George & Michael Cayo and sister Mary Taylor.   Inurnment will be at Sunset Lane Memorial Park in Port Orchard. Arrangements by Rill's Life Tribute Center.
