Richard "Dick" Chase died October 16, 2002 at Harrison Memorial Hospital in Bremerton, Washington. He was 64. He was born August 14, 1938 in Rockford, Illinois to Roy and Opal (Garman) Chase. He graduated from Clover Park High School in Tacoma, Washington in 1957. He was on the All State Team in football 2 years in a row. He attended Whitworth in Spokane, Washington and the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington. He played football at both colleges. Richard married Peggy (Wilkie) Chase July 1969 in Nevada. He was a truck sales manager for Capitol Chevrolet for 4 years; and, was rated as one of the "Top Ten" salesmen in the country for Chevrolet in 1972 - 1973. He also worked in management and sales 25 years for Bayside Ford of Port Orchard from 1976 - 2002. He had a great interest in boating - spending most of his leisure time working on his boats. He had a total of 36 boats in his lifetime; and, loved being out on the water. He is survived by his former wife, Peggy Chase (Wilkie) of Bainbridge Island, Washington; sons - Jason of Bainbridge Island, Washington, Riley of Port Orchard, Washington, Richard and Randy; daughter Robin Chase of Seattle, Washington; sister Kathryn Barber of Tacoma, Washington. Memorial services will be held at Rill Chapel of Port Orchard, Washington on Friday, October 25, 2002 at 1:00 p.m.
