Richard D. Close, 74, went home peacefully to The Lord on January 6, 2014 at the Franciscan Hospice House in University Place, Washington. He was born in Bellingham, Washington on March 4, 1939 to Estelle and Herb Close, both deceased. He was married for 54 years to the love of his life, Annie Murillo Close and together they lived in Port Orchard, Washington. Richard is survived by his wife Annie; three children, Cheryl Close Hoskins, Richard Close Jr, and Kenneth Close; sister Estelle Close; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Richard served in the US Navy from 1958-1962 aboard two Aircraft Carriers. Richard was a retired Washington State Patrol Trooper out of the Bremerton Detachment. Richard was an active member of Christian Life Center in Port Orchard. He loved camping with the family, vacationing in Mexico and Hawaii, fishing, boating, motorcycle riding with fellow church members and snow birding in Arizona.
