Richard Frisbie

Richard Frank Frisbie, 86, died at his home in Bremerton, Washington on May 23, 2006. He was born on March 18, 1920 in Chicago, Illinois to Frank E. & Lena (Kuettler) Frisbie. Richard married Dorothy Sleezer on April 27, 1947 and they were together until her death on July 2, 1993. Richard graduated from Austin High School in Chicago in 1937 and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Television Engineering from American Television College. He served in the 97th Infantry of the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1946 in Europe and Japan. He received campaign medals for American, European-African-Middle-Eastern, and Asiatic-Pacific; 2 Bronze Battle Stars, World War II Victory Medal, good Conduct medal, and overseas service bar. Mr. Frisbie worked as a Civil Service Supervisor in Forest Park Naval Torpedo Station in Illinois and Keport Naval Torpedo Station in Washington from 1952 to 1982. He also owned a television repair busness, worked as a sheet metal worker, and was employed by Western Electric. Richard enjoyed woodworking, automotive repair, and golf, His great joy was his grandchildren. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Lombard, Illionois. Surviving are sons Richard Frisbie II of Mountain View, California, David W. & Scott K. Frisbie, both of Bremerton, Washington; grandchildren Allison, Nashon, Krystle, Rachel, and Elijah. Funeral Service will be Monday, May 29, 2006 at 2:00 pm at Rill's Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard. Interment will on June 2, 2006 at Elm Lawn Cemetery in Elmhurst, Illionois. Memorial donations may be made to Childrens' Orthopedic Hospital in Seattle.
