Richard Haselman

Richard Ryan “Dick” Haselman age 85 passed away April 16, 2012 in his Port Orchard home of 38 years. Funeral services will be held at 3pm on Saturday, 4/21/2012, at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard. Dick was born on May 27, 1926 in Stillwater, MN to Gertrude and John Haselman. Dick married Dode in June of 1944 and together they raised 11 children. Aside from his 40 year career flying with Northwest Airlines, Dick also enjoyed golf, fishing, woodworking and playing with his 25 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Dick served his country in WWII during the reconstruction of Japan with the US Army Air Corps from May 1945 to Nov 1946. He also served as a volunteer fireman in the South Kitsap Fire Department. Dick was previously a member of St Gabriel’s Catholic Church and a lifetime member of the VFW in Port Orchard. He is preceded in death by his wife Dode, a son John (4 months), brothers Joseph “Bud”, George, Don, Bob and sister Patricia. He leaves behind sons Richard, Dave, Steve, Patrick, Carl; daughters Diane, Linda, Connie, Colleen, Laura and Dodie; brother Dave and sisters Mary, Margaret and Keets.
