Richard R. Lawrence of Allyn, Washington died August 5, 2004 at Ridgemont Terrace of Port Orchard, Washington. He was 89. He was born February 18, 1915 in Seattle, Washington to Robert and Rosemarie (O'Neil) Lawrence. He married Gladys (Jutte) Lawrence October 27, 1966 in Monroe, Washington. Richard graduated from Cleveland High School in Seattle, Washington. He worked in the Merchant Marines during WWII. Richard owned and operated a Marine freight Line Company - retiring in 1972. He was a former member of the Seattle Elks Club, Cannon Club of Allyn; enjoyed fishing, golfing and traveling. Richard was a member of the Prince of Peace Catholic Mission in Belfair. He is survived by his wife, Gladys (Jutte) Lawrence of the Allyn, Washington family home; sons - Richard Lawrence (& wife Suzanne) of Mercer Island, Washington, Ryan Lawrence (and wife, Eloise) of Portland, Oregon; Step-daughters - Susan Phinney (& husband, Brian) of Allyn, Washington, Cathie Von Awe (& husband, Aaron) of Port Townsend, Washington; 6 grancdhilcren (Rich Lawrence, Brett Lawrence, Lacey Lawrence, Ryann Lawrence, Jeff Slostad, Steve Slostad); 3 great-grandchildren (Reece Lawrence, Mason Lawrence and Daniel Hernandez). Richard was preceded in death by: wife - Edna and by wife- Ruth. A Memorial Mass will be held at Prince of Peace Catholic Mission in Belfair, Washington on Wednesday, August 11, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to: Your local food bank.
