Richard Lopez

Richard Moncure Lopez, beloved son, father, brother, joined our Lord in Heaven on September 19th, 2006, after a lengthy battle with a failing body. Richard?s greatest loves in his life were his family, especially his two children, and being a devout Christian. No matter the occasion, Richard?s hallmark farewell to everyone was ?Love you, God Bless?. Richard?s hospital stay provided many heartfelt moments of closure with family and friends. Laughter and tears alike were shared as we recounted many memorable moments with Richard. This time of sharing and closure was truly a blessing for all, and Richard was never happier than when he was surrounded by friends and family in such a loving and caring atmosphere. All his life Richard just wanted happiness and blessings for everyone he knew. Richard was a lifelong rock-and-roll fan, and part-time gardener whose houseplants reflected the time and care he lavished on them. Richard did many things in his life, but he was proudest of being a manager for the rock band, ?The Bullets?, and being a welder in the shipyard. He also enjoyed fishing and camping when he was able. Richard?s passing leaves behind his son, Richie, and grandson, Christo; daughter, Amanda, and grandson, Kylen; sisters Vickie, Michele, and Debbie; step-mother, Evelyn; step-father, George; cousin, Sue; nephews and niece, Ryan, Doug, and Malinda; and numerous friends whose supporting hospital visits were a joyful blessing to Richard. Richard was preceded in death by his father, Skip, and mother, Barbara, both of whom he loved deeply.
