Richard Donald Moore, 94, passed away on February 21st, 2016 at The Washington Veterans Home Retsil in Port Orchard, WA. He was surrounded by his wife and children. He was the husband of Erma Dean Moore of Hughes Springs, TX. They shared almost 70 years of marriage together. Born in Dangerfield, TX he was the son of Frank Noble Moore and Louise Hart Moore. He worked in the space industry for GE, Rockwell and Martin Marietta in Houston, TX. He had an entrepreneur spirit and tried his hand at a “five and dime” store, a motel and found success with a mobile home park in Alvin, TX all while balancing his “real jobs.” He worked hard and was very generous to his family. He was a member of The Eastside Church of Christ in Alvin, TX before moving to Wichita, KS where he was a member of Westside Church of Christ and then most recently, Central Kitsap Church of Christ in Silverdale, WA when he and Erma moved to Washington State to be near 3 of their 4 children.
He will be remembered for being a great provider, wonderful father and devoted husband. He is survived by his wife, Erma, son’s Richard, Robert, John David and daughter Mary Ann Lee and Husband Richard Lee, Daughters in Law Glenda Moore, Dennise Casey and granddaughter Jordan Ingram and her husband Brandon Ingram, grandson’s Connor and Camden Lee and 3 great grandchildren Kylee, Wayden, and Henry.
The family will have a memorial service for immediate family members at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, WA.
