Robert Benjamin

Robert "Bob" Benjamin of Port Orchard, Washington died May 7, 2009 after battling cancer for several years. Bob was born November 18, 1937 in Framingham, Massachusetts to George and Clara Benjamin. He graduated from Vallejo Jr. College with an A/A degree. He and his wife Carol were married on March 26, 1971. Bob retired as a Correctional Counselor at San Quentin Prison in 1995. Bob's most enjoyable years were spent in Sonoma, California where he was very active in youth sports. He spent years coaching the youth of Sonoma in baseball and Pop Warner football. Surviving are wife Carol; sons Michael, Matthew, and Kirk; daughters Carla, Kathy, and Dawn; brothers Seldin and Gordon; 16 grandchildren and 2 great granddaughters. Memorial services are planned for this summer in Sonoma, California. Exact date to be posted soon. Donations may be made in his name to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
