Robert “Bob” McLauchlan 84, left this earth surrounded by his loving and devoted family on Dec. 8, 2013. He was born to Thomas McLauchlan and Dorothy Hendrix in 1929 in Whitefish, MT. Bob was preceded in death by his first wife Annabelle McLauchlan in 1977, stepmother Ruth McLauchlan, stepbrother Willis McLauchlan and son-in-law Martin Compau. Bob is survived by his wife Muriel (Goucher), brother Jack (Shirley) McLauchlan, step brothers George, Thomas, James and Terrance McLauchlan, stepsisters Edna Hackett, Lyla Fisher, Janet Ives, Judy Valentine, Patti Miller, his three daughters Roberta (William) Gadberry, Shirley (Randy) Paolino, and Patsy Compau, six grandchildren Nicole (Dan) Rothrock, Jamie Gadberry, Robert Compau, Joann Hill, Jason Kersey, and Patsy Paolino, seven great grandchildren, many Nieces and Nephews, Muriel’s children Teri Shoemaker and Tim Anderson.
Bob served in the Marine Corps, was a barber, and retired from shop 71 at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton, WA. Bob was a past president of the Eagles, where he was a member for many years in Port Orchard, WA.
His hobbies included camping, fishing, traveling, woodworking, hunting, prospecting for gold and treasures, watching the Seahawks and attending his great-granddaughter's soccer games.
He was a family man with a kind gentle peace keeping soul that will be missed.
