Robert Michael "Bob" Boscola Sr., 74 of Poulsbo, Washington died Friday April 15, 2005 due to cancer. He died at his home with family by his side. He was born January 19, 1931 in Chester, Pennsylvania to Felix Joseph & Alma Florence (Bertolini) Boscola. Robert married Doris P. Amato on January 29, 1955 in Portland, Oregon. Bob graduated from St. James High School in Chester, Pennsylvania in 1948. He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1959 from Pennsylvania Military College also in Chester. Bob served in the U.S. Air Force as an Airman 1st Class from 1952 to 1955 during the Korean War, stationed at Mildenhall, England. Bob was a mechanical engineer for 26 years at the Naval Undersea Warfare Engineering Station, retiring in 1988. He was head of computer applications. He also owned the Gondolier Restaurant in the South Park Village Shopping Center in Port Orchard in the early 1970's and Plazo Video on Lund and Jackson in the 1980's. He co-owned Boscola's Ice Cream and Candy, also at Lund and Jackson. Bob was a member of Knights of Columbus 1379, Toastmasters, Bremerton Elks 1181, and Port Orchard Eagles 2388. Bob enjoyed spending time with family; was an avid golfer (having participated in several leagues); was a history buff; and loved to travel. He was a stained glass maker; had two special grand-dogs - Bear and B.J. He was an avid football fan and also volunteered as a football coach at Klahowya High School while his grandson, Brad was there. Robert is survived by former spouse and friend Doris P. Boscola of Portland, Oregon; sons Robert M. Boscola Jr. (Heidi) of Broomfield, Colorado, Ronald Boscola (Debi) of Sammamish, Washington, James Boscola of Port Orchard, Washington; daughters Susan Boscola (& Raymond Sumlin) of Poulsbo, Washington, Patricia Cagle of Poulsbo, Washington, Samantha Loop of Poulsbo, Washington; brother Edward Boscola (Lillian) of Warminster, Pennsylvania; sister Delores McAnall of Baytown, Texas; 9 grandchildren Brandon Spout and his Fiance' Victoria Jackson, Bradley Sprout, Tiffany Boscola & her Fiance' Scott Marlow, Joe, Michelle and Stephen Boscola, Robert & Robbyn Cagle, Sarah Boscola and Lesli Loop-Smith; 3 great-grandchildren (Ryan, Anjoleah and Giovanni). He was preceded in death by his parents Felix and Alma (Bertolini) Boscola and brother Felix Joseph Boscola Jr. Visitations will be held at Rill's Life Trbute Wednesday April 20, 2005 from 12 noon - 5:00 p.m. and on Thursday April 21, 2005 from 9:00 a.m. - service. A funeral will be held at Rill's Life Tribute Center on Thursday, April 21, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be held at Sunset Lane Memorial Park in Port Orchard.
