Robert B. Farnham of Port Orchard, Washington died November 16, 2004 in Port Orchard following a long term illness. He was 81. He was born January 7, 1923 in Onalaska, Washington to George Lester and Esther L. (Bosworth) Farnham. He married Verda A. (Ringer) Farnham May 15, 1948 in Winnamucca, Nevada. Robert attended Centralia High School in Centralia, Washington. He served in the United States Navy from January 1941 through November 1945. Robert attained rank of Ship's Cook 3rd Class; and, received the American Defense Campaign Medal and World War II Victory Medal. He worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard from 1948 - 1973 - worked as an apprentice nuclear supervisor; and worked for Brem Aire Waste Management as a machinist - retiring in 1998. Robert was a member of Disabled American Veterans (Gorst), Veterans of Foreign Wars (Bremerton), National Rifles Association, Fleet Reserve Association. He helped start the National Pearl Harbor Survivors Association - serving as the first National Secretary; and, was president of the Captain Donald K. Ross Chapter of the National Pearl Harbor Survivors Association. He was involved in many civic organizations. Robert attended Gorst Baptist Community Church. He is survived by his wife - Verda (Ringer) Farnham of the Port Orchard, Washington family home; son - Terry Farnham (& wife, Pennie) of Port Orchard; daughters - Karren Fava of Arlington,Washington, Jeannie Patterson (& husband, Glenn) of Port Orchard; 8 grandchildren: Robert Deen, Katrina Deen, Judy Clark, Sherrie Raygor, John Patterson, Bridget Cisneros, Brian Farnham, Brenda Wickenhauser. He was preceded in death by brother - George Farnham who died in 1945.
