Robert K. Freimuth, 65 of Port Orchard, died August 25, 2013. He was born in Watertown, SD on August 24, 1948 to Clarence & Doris (Hillestad) Freimuth. He graduated from South Kitsap HS in 1971 and Olympic College in 1972.
Robert worked as CEO for United Food and Commercial Workers Union for 30 Years. He was President of Alaska, Spokane and Bremerton UFCW Locals and was the International Region 7 Assistant to the Executive Director.
He was an avid golfer and enjoyed all other sports, including casinos. He loved volunteering at Stafford at Ridgemont Terrace in Port Orchard and truly enjoyed the staff and residents there. He was a board member of Port Orchard Help Line, member of the Port Orchard Eagles & Moose in Palmer, AK.
Surviving are wife Karla (Dodson); son Robert K. Freimuth, Jr. of Amanda Park, WA; daughters Lisa Chambliss of Tri-cities, WA, Tammy Bechtle of Gig Harbor, WA & Roberta Knapp of Port Orchard; brother Doug (Rayann) Freimuth of Las Vegas, NV; sister Donna (Paul) Strapac of Port Orchard; grandchildren Kenny & Kayla Knapp, Carissa Gates, Austin Bechtle, Breanna & Alex Miller.
Celebration of Life Service at 4:00 pm on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at Rill’s Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard.
