Robert Hankinson

Robert C. "Hank" Hankinson, 83 of Belfair WA, died in Bremerton on June 15, 2008.  He was born October 7, 1924 in Tampa, FL to John William & Bertha Mae (Wade) Hankinson.  He married Lillian M. Stites on October 13, 1945 in Shelton, WA. Hank worked as a Pipefitter for 34 years at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton, retiring in 1979.  He also served in the U.S. Navy as a Seaman 1st Class from 1941 to 1945. Hank enjoyed fishing, painting, rock collecting & polishing, writing poetry, telling jokes & making people smile.  He was an active member of Belfair Community Baptist Church.  His wife Lillian was the light of his life. Surviving are his wife Lillian; son Richard (Sharon) Hankinson of Belfair; brother Reginald Hankinson of FL; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by son william Russell Hankinson. Memorial service at Belfair Community Baptist Church in Belfair at 3:00 pm on Sunday, June 22, 2008.  Inurnment will be at Twin Firs Cemetery, also in Belfair.
