Robert William Hill, 86, Lacey, died September 29, 2005. The graveside service will be held at the Knights of Pythias Cemetery in Port Orchard, Washington at 2:00 on October 7th. The memoral service will be held on Saturday the 8th at 11:00 a.m. at the Evergreen Christian Community Church in Olympia, Washington. Mr Hill was born December 22, 1918 in Vancouver, Canada, to Robert and Helen Hill. He was raised in Port Orchard, Washington. In 1939 Mr. Hill entered the Navy and became involved in World War II. He served in Europe, Africa, and the South Seas. His first assignment was on the USS Arizona and then the USS Massachusetts. After being honorably discharged from the Navy in 1945, he went to work at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. On November 11, 1946 he married Irene Bernice Guthrie. They were married over 58 years. Survivors include his wife, Irene, two daughters, Linda (Herb) Rowland, of Indiana, and Jeannie (Daniel) Mulkey of Spanaway and two sons Keith Hill of Bonney Lake, and Bob (Pat) Hill of Lacey. There are eight grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Mr. Hill has two sisters living in Port Orchard, Leona Morrison and Lavina McIntyre. Mr. Hill was a member of Evergreen Christian Community Church in Olympia for over 29 years of his life. Remembrances are requested to be made to Providence Hospice, 3432 S. Bay Rd.
