Robert Harold Murphy

Robert Harold Murphy, 74, died at his home in Port Orchard on August 6, 2015. He was born June 14, 1941 in Richmond, Virginia.
Bob was a proud Veteran of the Marines as an E-5 Sergeant. He served four tours of duty in Vietnam before being wounded which ended his military career. He received numerous awards including the Silver Star. He later retired from Puget Sound Naval Shipyard after 35 years.
Bob was a life member of V.F.W. Post #239, a member of DAV, as well as Marine Corps League. Bob achieved many things among the community with the help of his close Marine buddies such as bringing Toys for Tots and the Marine Corps League to Kitsap County.
His hobbies included hunting and fishing, gun collecting, and traveling with his wife, Kathy and their beloved dogs.
Bob is survived by his wife Kathy of 26 years; brothers Troy and Richard (wives, three nephews and one niece); stepchildren Penny and Byron; grandchildren, Felicia, Jeffrey (Bob's fishing buddy), Sarah; and much anticipated great-granddaughter, Gwendolyn.
Bob's family and friends greatly miss Bob and his wealth of stories.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 pm on September 26, 2015 at V.F.W. Post #239, 190 Dora Ave, Bremerton 98312
