Robert ''Bob" Overfield

Robert ''Bob'' Bert Overfield, 81, died in Port Orchard, Washington on August 31, 2000. He was born on November 1, 1918 in Gering, Nebraska to Lafayette and Ruth (Shattuck) Overfield. Mr. Overfield graduated from Gering High School.Robert married June W.(Walker) Overfield on September 12, 1944 in Chicago, Illinois. He was an Electronic Technician Master Chief in the US Navy where he retired after 37 years. Bob received the Vietnam Service Medal with 4 Bronze Stars and the Presidential Unit Citation. He also served 6 years in the National Guard.Surviving are his wife June; sons David of Portland, Oregon, Lynn of Tacoma, daughters Jacqueline Watson and Judith Overfield both of Port Orchard. Bob enjoyed electronics and reading.A private gathering with family and friends will be at a later date. Memorials may be made to the NW Parkinson's Foundation 1206-123rd Avenue SE.
