Robert Smith

Robert L. Smith, 54, died at his home in Belfair on July 22, 1999.  He was born February 26, 1945 in San Francisco, California to Melvin & Ruth (Kyle) Smith.  Robert was raised in Bremerton, graduating from West Bremerton High School in 1963.  He married Patricia Hoenhous in Belfair on April 3, 1977.Mr. Smith was a Construction Manager for U. S. West for 23 years, retiring in 1990.  He served in the U. S. Army 82nd Airborne from 1963 to 1966.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening; was a member of the Poagie Club, Elma Game Club, Elks member and former Board of Trustee for #1181 in Bremerton.Surviving are his wife; stepsons Christopher Butler of Port Orchard and Grant Butler of Belfair; daughters Cheri Henry of San Diego and Cari Abrams of Louisville, Kentucky; brother Ralph Smith of Bremerton; and 8 grandchildren.Memorial Service is Monday, August 2, 1999 at 2:00 PM at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard.  Memorials to Hospice of Mason County, Providence Sound Home Care & Hospice, 2505 Olympic Highway North, Suite 150, Shelton, WA 98584.
