Robert Eugene Smith

Robert E Smith, 81, of Bremerton, died Nov 27, 2013 at Ashley Gardens. He was born July 26, 1932 in Seattle to Ralph Smith and Lola Borchers. Robert graduated from South Kitsap HS in 1950 and then obtained his Marine Machinist degree from Olympic College. He worked as a price analyst and supervised shipbuilding, conversion and repairs for over 37 years at Sandpoint, WA retiring in 1987. He belonged to the Eagles, Elks and the Alderbrook Golf Association. Robert enjoyed 57 years of golf achieving a handicap of 7 and getting a hole in one on the 12th fairway in front of his own home with his grandson Jason watching. He also excelled in football, baseball, and basketball in high school and his adult life. He married Patricia Jane Bennett on Jan 1, 1984 in Burien, WA. He was preceded in death by his parents and great granddaughter, Emma Wotzka. He is survived by his wife Patricia, children Kenneth Smith, Steven Smith, Debra Walsh and their mother LeRita Hunt, step daughter Connie Hostak, 11 grandchildren & 18 great-grandchildren.
