Robert N. Waters, 74 of Bremerton, Washington died at Ridgemont Terrace in Port Orchard, Washington on February 16, 2007. He was born on August 3, 1932 in Peoria, Illinois to Leroy & Hazel Ann (Felton) Waters. He graduated from high school in New Brighton, Pennsylvania and married Betty Peck in Weatherford Texas on November 19, 1958. Robert retired in 1988 after working as a Maintenance Foreman for 33 years with civil service in China Lake, California. He also spent 15 years as a Plumber in Ridgecrest, California. He served as a Corporal in the U.S. Army from 1949 to 1953, earning the Good Conduct Medal and Occupational Medal (Germany). Robert enjoyed bowling and was very involved with his children & grandchildren's sports, especially with his son's professional football career. He was a member of FOE, VFW, and American Legion; was President of the Fair Board; Pyrotechnican in Ridgecrest, California; past state president of the Eagles in California and organized the Eagles in Ridgecrest, California. Surviving are his wife Betty; son Michael (Jenny) Waters of Escondido, California; daughters Vicki (Wade) Marley of Ridgecrest, California and Mary (Bill) Hough of Bremerton, Washington; sister Virginia (Emil) Spolarich of Tampa, Florida; grandchildren Christyna (Todd) Barker, Charlie, Michael & Matthew Hough, Jacob (Carolyn) Sanderson, Autumn Sanderson, Angela & Nic Marley, and Colin & Delaney Waters; 5 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and special friends. He was preceded in death by his twin brother Richard and older brother Kenneth. Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 23, 2007 at Rill's Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard, Washington. Interment will follow at Sunset Lane Memorial Park, also in Port Orchard.
