Robert Winkler

Robert Harold Winkler died April 18, 2003 at Harrison Hospital in Bremerton, Washington. He was 65.He was born June 2, 1937 to Harold and Lillian (Persha) Winkler in Portland, Oregon.Robert graduated from Roosevelt High School in Portland, Oregon in 1955. He also graduated from Highline Community College in Burien, Washington - attaining an Associate Degree.He married Judith Anne (Ernst) Winkler November 14, 1964 in Port Orchard, Washington.Robert served in the Air Force from 1955-1959.He worked in sales and as a business executive at Brown and Williamson Tobacco Co. in Louisville, Kentucky for 17 years - retiring in 1994. He also worked at Lorillard Tobacco Co. in Portland, Oregon for 15 years.Robert enjoyed golf, travel and woodworking.He was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Port Orchard, Washington.Robert is survived by his wife, Judith Ann (Ernst) Winkler of the family home in Port Orchard, Washington; mother, Lillian Winkler, of Portland, Oregon; daughters - Lisa Elzig (& husband, Ron) of Port Orchard, Washington, Jill Skitton (& husband, Stuart) of Waterford, Michigan; one granddaughter, Hannah Elzig.A memorial service will be held Friday, April 25, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at Rill Chapel's Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard, Washington.Memorial donations may be made to:Make-A-Wish Foundation of America(Western Washington Chapter)1-866-880-1382
