Roberta Chase June 2,1919--February 6,2015
Roberta Chase passed from a heart attack on February 6,2015 at The Franciscan Hospice House in University Place, Tacoma. Roberta was born June 2, 1919 in Wenatchee, Washington. Economic times were tough as she and her four brothers and sisters were raised in Anacortes and Everett.
Berta married Ronald L Chase Easter Sunday April 13,1941 at 10:30pm at the home of a South Seattle Justice of the Peace. They had constructed two apartment houses on Fuhrman Avenue near the University Bridge where they resided for over 45 years. From their deck they enjoyed fabulous views of the boats on the Ship Canal. They were married 54 years when Ronnie passed in 1995.
Roberta moved to Port Orchard to be closer to her nieces and nephews and her sister Eva Doboff. Berta enjoyed her friends and the staff of The Ridgemont Terrace Senior Apartments where she lived for the past 12 years. A few of the things Berta enjoyed were reading each day The Seattle Times, trips to Reno, playing bingo and going to gambling casinos, being on scenic drives and singing Patsy Cline songs, and recounting stories of her and Ronnie's life. We will fondly remember her warm heart, her sense of humor and her sharp wit.
Berta was the last survivor of the five Kenoyer brothers and sisters. She is survived and loved by nieces and nephews: Diane (Dan) Phillips; Denny (Barbara) Deahl; Vern Deahl; Jimmy Deahl; Kristene Deahl Packard; Butch (Liz) Kenoyer; Larry (Melcina) Mowbray; Gerry Kenoyer; Ronald's nieces Beverly Miller (Adam); Barbara (Gary) Gentoft; and nephew Robert Dwight Chase as well great niece Tara Phillips of Los Angeles, Ca and numerous other great nieces and nephews.
She will lay to rest with her husband at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Everett, Wa. At her request, no memorial service shall be held. Remembrances in her name could be given to The Salvation Army.
