Rochelle Leah Armstrong, 75, of Port Orchard, Washington died peacefully Sunday, Jan. 18, at home with her family by her side.
Shelly was born in International Falls, Minnesota in 1939. As a child, she and her family moved to Lebanon, Oregon. After graduating high school she moved to Port Orchard, Washington. There she began what was her pride and joy, raising her family. Shelly enjoyed cooking, sewing, arts and crafts, playing games, and singing with the Sweet Adelines’ Chorus.
She was an avid volunteer, helping to raise awareness and money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. One summer she organized a Muscular Dystrophy camp. Shelly had a passion for helping people and later became a certified nursing assistant and cared for residents in a local nursing home.
Shelly was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She is survived by her husband Robert; three children Bart, Mark, and Kim; siblings Gail and Rich; six grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son Todd.
A celebration of life is being planned for a later date. Donations may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association in memory of Shelly.
