Rodrigo Rodolfo Brenes

Family and friends are sad to announce the passing of Rodrigo R. Brenes, formerly of Port Angeles WA. He died of natural causes on December 28, 2023 at the age of 79. Rodrigo was born on January 5th 1944 in Costa Rica to Gustavo Brenes and Carmen Nielsen.

Rodrigo came to the United States as a teenager where he joined the US Marine Corps and fought in the Vietnam war. He retired from the USMC after 30 years of service and throughout his life remained passionately dedicated to the USMC and his country.

“Rigo”, as he was affectionately called by his family and friends, had a very outgoing personality, a wonderful sense of humor and he loved people. He made friends easily with neighbors and workers at the businesses that he frequented. He loved to make people laugh and smile. He will be dearly missed.

Rodrigo is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Olinda Brenes, his sister Estrella Olguin and her husband David, three children: Cindy Brenes Linhart, Juanita Brenes Jansen, and Rodolfo Brenes. He had four grandchildren: Nicolas Jansen, Travis Jansen, Justina Shade, and Shawn Papania. He also had many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held from 2pm-7pm at the Rill Chapel Funeral Home 1151 Mitchell Ave. Port Orchard, Washington 98366

Friends and family of Rodrigo are welcome to join the viewing, funeral service and lunch following.
