Roger G. Kingston

Roger passed away at home on September 16th due to complications of diabetes. He is survived by his father Wayne Kingston(Eva) of Washington/Texas, sister Dawn Kingston of Bremerton, daughter Staci Smythe of Port Orchard, son Robert Henke(Deirdre) of Port Orchard, son Justin Kingston of Tacoma, son Eric Kingston of Ketchican,daughter Heather Kingston(Matt) of Port Orchard, daughter Amianne Kingston of Port Orchard, daughter Kasandra Kingston of Port Orchard and son Taylor "Ben" Kingston of Port Orchard. He was a proud grandpa to 12 grandkids. He was preceeded in death by is wife Kandis Kingston, his mother Suzanne Kingston and his father Glenn Dahlvang.

Roger was born in Inglewood California he continued to reside in California until 1968. He then lived in Texas until moving to Kitsap County in 1974. Roger was a South Kitsap High School graduate, Class of 1977.

Roger worked as a Drywall Finisher and Forman for over 25 years with Pacific Construstion Systems before retiring in 2010. He also was a volunteer firefighter for the South Kitsap Fire Department. He also spent some time as a bouncer at Castaways in Port Orchard. While working there he met the love of his life, Kandi. They wed at their home on December 4, 1988.
Roger and his wife Kandi were licsenced foster parents for the State of Washington for 11 years during which they adopted 6 children (most of which had special needs) and fostered well over 50 more.

Roger enjoyed cooking and barbecuing. He made a mean strogenoff and making soups was his favorite. Another past time he had was spending time at the shooting range shooting his guns. He loved his music and attending concerts. He got to meet the members of one of his favorite bands Big Head Todd. Ultimately, spending time with family and friends was the highlight of his day. As anyone that knew him would tell you, he would give the shirt off his back to anyone who needed it. He was a very kind and caring soul with a huge heart.
