Rolland Jones

Rolland Edward Jones, 84 of Port Orchard, died November 30, 2008.  He was born November 23, 1924 in Clarinda, IA to Bert & Nellie Jones.  He graduated from Clarinda HS in 1946, Boyles College in Omaha, NE in 1949, & City University in Silverdale, WA in 1981 with a BS degree in Business Admin.  He married Wanda Lea Thomas June 1, 1946 in Troy KS.  Rolland worked for Cascade Natural Gas in WA for 28 years, retiring as Director of  Sales in 1991.  He served as a Corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1943-1945 earning medals including WWII Victory &  Asiatic Campaign with Bronze Star.   Rolland enjoyed golfing, boating, motorhoming, computers, and his dog Hiedi & cat Dolby.  He was a member of Kiwanis, Chamber of Commerce and Toastmasters of Port Orchard, and the United Methodist Church.  Surviving are wife Wanda; son Barry Jones of Port Orchard; daughters Jana Jones of Olympia, Joni (Michael) Caldon & Shari (Craig) Connell; grandchildren Jeremy Jones, Lon & Kyle Cladon, Jeffery Dlugoush, Kara, Thomas & Zachary Connell; great-grandchildren Anna Jones, Parker Caldon & Brooklynn Connell.  He was preceded in death by son Stephen, granddaughter Jessica, and sister Vonda Rose Leis.  Celebration of Life at 1:00 pm at Rill's Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard on December 5, 2008 with burial following at Sunset Lane Memorial Park.
